Cops recover two country-made pistols, two live rounds from MIDC and Sadar area.
Nagpur: On March 2, 2016, Nayak Police Constable (buckle No 1093) Dilip Thakre received a confidential information that one person who is a resident of Rajeev Nagar has acquired a country made pistol (Desi Katta and
some bullets (kartoos).
The cops of the MIDC Police Station including Police Sub Inspector S N Ramteke, Police Constable Gyanchand Dube, Pramod Hiwarkar, Nayak Police Constable Dilip Thakre and others visited the house of the suspected person but did not find him at home.
At 2: 30 pm, the cops who were waiting for the accused to come back home apprehended him and took him to the MIDC Police Station. On sustained interrogation, they found that the accused is identified as Sushil Kumar Sadasheel Kurmi aged 30 years and a Water Tanker Driver by occupation. Initially he was giving evasive replies to the cops. However, at 1 pm, Senior Police Inspector V Z Boye, Police Sub Inspector D K Wagh and the Detective Branch Squad questioned him in their own way and the accused blurted out the truth. The DB Squad personnel took him back to his house and recovered the new Country-made pistol (Desi Katta) costing Rs 15,000/- and two live rounds costing Rs 500 each in all totaling Ts 16,000/-. The cops of MIDC Police had arrested the accused and has registered a case under relevant sections of Arms Act and is investigating further.
In the second case, the cops of Sadar Police Station received a secret tip off on March 3m 2016 at 5 pm that a youth is walking with a fire arm in Byramji Town, Aakar Nagar area. The cops of Sadar Police Station reached the spot and in the presence of two panchas, apprehended the accused and on frisking him, found a country-made pistol worth Rs 3000/- on him.
